Bikes & Bugs was established in 2009 by three close friends who each brought a unique element to the project. Dominic Mandola is a successful restaurant owner/operator of the popular Houston area Ragin Cajun chain of cajun restaurants well known for their boiled crawfish. Chris Nelson is also known as “the Mayor” for his extensive social network throughout Fort Bend County and the Houston area. His affinity for fishing and motorcyle riding brought these two respective groups of attendees and sponsors to the table. Mark Wallis is a successful business man with an affinity for charitable ventures brought his business operational expertise and charitable organization skills to the table.
The first event was held in 2009 at Ragin’ Cajun in Sugar Land, Texas. The venues have changed over the years, but the core goals of bringing people together for a fun day of music, food, fun, and raising money for charity remain the same.
Established in 1983, the Epilepsy Foundation Texas-Houston/Dallas-Fort Worth/West Texas is a group of dedicated staff members and volunteers working to improve the lives of people with epilepsy and those who care for them. As an affiliate of the national office of the Epilepsy Foundation, our organization serves 176 of the 254 counties in Texas.
Texas Adaptive Aquatics is a water sports and hunting program for disabled children, adults, wounded and disabled soldiers.
